Communications Hill is a master planned community located five miles south of Downtown San Jose on the hillside area along Highway 87 and between Hillsdale Avenue and Curtner Avenue. Communications Hill is named for the point-to-point microwave tower at the summit and is a prominent landmark in the San Jose skyline. Before the name change, Communications Hill was known as Tuscany Hills.

In addition to the microwave tower, Communications Hill is also home to a number of other public facilities, including the San Jose Fire Department, the Santa Clara County Communications 9-1-1 Dispatch center, and San Jose City public parks and trails. Communications Hills is currently an all residential community that will expand up to 2,200 homes. The Communications Hill master plan also includes a village center, industrial park, and elementary school. 

Communications Hill offers stunning views of the San Jose Valley and the surrounding area. It is a popular spot for hiking, biking, and picnicking. The hill is also home to a number of wildlife species, including deer, coyotes, and hawks.

The development of Communications Hill is to be completed in four phases with two of the phases already completed and the next two is anticipated to begin in the near future. KB Home was the sole developer of the existing residential units on the hill. The residential development has incorporated a mix of architectural styles, ranging from traditional, transitional, to contemporary. Residents can enjoy high speed internet from AT&T Fiber, Comcast, and Sail.

The location of Communications Hill is desirably convenient, with easy access to major highways 87, 85, 280, 101, and 680. Tamien Caltrain station and VTA Lightrail are also nearby for public transportation. Multiple dining and shopping destinations are also just a short drive away.
